A Brush with Nature

Gamini Ratnavira possesses the natural ability to bring birds and creatures virtually to life on canvas using only a paintbrush and paint. His emotional bonds with the environment are evident in the quality and beauty of his paintings.

By watching and listening to this two hour instructional video you learn the techniques that Gamini uses to create breathtakingly lifelike renderings of wildlife. Follow his distinctive method of turning simple brush strokes into the detailed renderings of nature.

Gamini has recently been juried into the Society of Animal Artists, an organization that includes some of the best wildlife artists in the world. His works can be found everywhere in private and public collections around the world; from Asia to Europe and across the United States.

A self-taught artist and avid conservationist, Gamini's love of nature began in his native home of Sri Lanka. "I am a student of nature," Gamini says. "It is the most important influence in my life."
