Our recent visit to the Natalie Ratnavira Educational Center...

Updated: Apr 6

The Natalie Ratnavira Educational Center in Sri Lanka was built after years of effort, fundraising and planning on November 11,2019. It is available for scientists, students, artists and writers to learn more about nature and conservation.

We recently visited Natalie's center during March 2025 and our hearts are so full knowing her legacy of love for animals and conservation continues thanks to the dedication and hard work of Wildlife Conservation Society Galle under our family friend Madura De Silva's guidance, love, and leadership. We are truly grateful to our friends and family who generously supported this ecological sanctuary in the rainforest of Sri Lanka. This is one way we keep Nat's smile with us. This is one way we transform our grief into honoring Nat's love in our lives. After years of planning and visualizing what could most help the wildlife in this region and remember our daughter Natalie, actually hiking, birdwatching, listening to the rainfall and sketching and writing at her center was truly a dream come true. We met field scientists and conservationists who expressed the difference Nat's center is making for their studies, discovering new plant species, birds and fish and so much more. Special thank you for your donations and support and to the amazing volunteers at Wildlife Conservation Society Galle and Madura DeSilva. We are truly grateful.
